Balestier
Students’ Hostel (BSH) was
established in 1976 to meet the specific needs
of foreign students intending to study in
Singapore. Over the years, we have gained
considerable experience taking care of the
education and welfare of foreign students
from countries in the region.
BSH is a 4-storey building
situated at the junction of Boon Teck Road
and Balestier Road. It was founded more than
30 years ago and is registered with the Government
of Singapore. The Hostel is very spacious,
well-equipped and properly managed to cater
to the needs of foreign students from countries
in this region.
Balestier Students’
Hostel is within walking distance of a wide
variety of shopping malls, food outlets, hospitals
and other service centres. It is also easily
accessible to many of the Primary and Secondary
Schools in the area. Moreover, public transport
and banking facilities are also available
for the convenience of the hostelites.
Apart from attending
schools during weekdays, the students have
to attend tuition classes conducted by the
Hostel. They usually attend classes in their
weaker subjects such as English, Mathematics,
Science and Mandarin. The tuition lessons
are conducted by qualified and experienced
teachers (former senior teachers from the
Ministry of Education). After dinner, between
7.00pm and 9.00pm, the students have to do
homework and self-study. Life in the Hostel
develops good discipline and habits.
Our
Mission

all hostelites with a "Home away from
